What are ground gears ?
Gears whose precision and surface roughness are improved by grinding the tooth surface with the grinding wheel of a high-speed gear grinding machine are called ground gears.
Ground gears with ground tooth surfaces are quiet and suitable for use under high-speed rotation, which places strict demands on noise and vibration. In addition, grinding gears after quenching (heat treatment) makes it possible to produce gears that are superior in both strength and precision.
Tooth surface grinding can be applied not only to spur gears but also to helical gears, internal gears, gear racks, bevel gears, worms, etc.
