What is gear injection molding?
Injection molding is a type of plastic gear manufacturing method.
As shown below, it is a highly productive manufacturing method in which heated plastic material is injected at high pressure into a precision mold made in the shape of a gear, cooled, and molded.
Using this injection molding method for mass production can reduce manufacturing costs, but on the other hand, it is not suitable for low-volume production because the molds are expensive.
Other manufacturing methods for plastic gears include cutting and 3D printer modeling, which are used according to different conditions.
